One of this country’s top three-year-olds of 2024, MY BOY PRINCE, could be tough to catch in Saturday’s $300,000 Commonwealth Turf (G3) at Churchill Downs. Gary Barber’s grey colt, who won the Queenston, King Corrie and Plate Trial Stakes this year, was second in the King’s Plate before finishing a noble sixth in the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile.

Most recently, My Boy Prince went far too fast on the pace in the one-mile Bryan Station Stakes (G2) at Keeneland.

Listed at 6-to-1 in the morning line odds, My Boy Prince meets Herchee, who was third in the Bryan Station and fellow Ontario-bred Piper’s Factor, who won the Toronto Cup on turf in August at Woodbine. Katarina Vassilieva trains the son of The Factor for Chiefswood Stables. The morning line favourite is Dashman, a son of Oscar Performance who was recently fourth in the Jockey Club Invitational (G3).
