A filly by leading Manitoba sire NONIOS topped the CTHS Manitoba’s 2026 Yearling Sale at Assiniboia Downs on August 20. Consigned by Larry Falloon, the bay filly was purchased for $24,000 by Anne Champion. The yearling is a half-sister to 2025 Manitoba Horse of the Year Mighty Mikee.
The sale topper was one of 26 yearlings sold at the sale which realized a jump up in gross sales, but a dip in yearling average. The gross for 26 horses sold was $241,600, up from $218,550 a year ago for 21 sold
The average price was down to $9,292 from $10,407.
The top male yearling of the sale was a Speculating gelding from multiple stakes winner Hidden Grace. Offered by Ziprick Thoroughbreds as agent, the gelding was purchased by Cam Ziprick.
