Ocala Breeders’ Sales will host its April Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale beginning April 16 with some 1,200 juveniles catalogued over four days at the northern Florida auction house. There are a handful of Canadian-breds including two that had fast workouts for 2 furlongs at the under-tack show.
A colt by Collected from Gidget Girl by Sky Mesa worked in near-track record time, 2 furlongs in 20 4/5 on the first day of the Under Tack Show. Bred by Jim Rome’s Jungle Racing, the colt is offered by Eddie Woods, agent. Gidget Girl is the dam of multiple stakes winner Straight Up G.
A filly by Twirling Candy also worked in 24 4/5 for consignor Tom McCrocklin, agent. The filly is out of stakes-placed Enoree, by More Than Ready, and she was bred by Mark Dodson.
Hip No. 365, a daughter of Belmont, Travers and Florida Derby winner Tiz the Law consigned by Tom McCrocklin, agent, breezed a quarter in a track record equaling :20 1/5, posting the fastest work at the distance at the third session of the Under Tack Show for the 2024 OBS Spring Sale of Two Year Olds in Training. The bay filly is a half-sister to graded stakes placed Urban out of stakes winner Moonlight Sky, by Sky Mesa, from the family of champion Abel Tasman
