Woodbine Entertainment welcomes back Rethink Breast Cancer as the official charity partner of The Queen’s Plate and has launched its first online 50/50 raffle in support of the Canadian organization’s mission.
Rethink Breast Cancer’s mission is to empower young people worldwide who are concerned about and affected by breast cancer through innovative education, support and advocacy.
Woodbine Cares and Rethink Breast Cancer will team up to host the 50/50 raffle draw during this year’s Queen’s Plate Racing Festival, which runs from June 28-29. This year marks the first time that raffle tickets will also be available to purchase online from June 17-29 at QP5050.ca. There will be a minimum guaranteed prize of $2,500.
Rethink Breast Cancer will be a part of the Hats & Horseshoes Party and the draw will be held on Saturday, June 29 at approximately 6 p.m.
In addition, one dollar from every ticket sold to the Queen’s Plate Racing Festival will help support the young women’s breast cancer movement.
Since 2014, the Queen’s Plate has helped Rethink Breast Cancer raise more than $130,000, including $11,410 through last year’s 50/50 draw.
The Queen’s Plate is North America’s oldest continuously-run stakes race and the first jewel in the OLG Canadian Triple Crown. The million-dollar race is the highlight of Canada’s premier horse racing festival, which also features live concerts by High Valley and The Washboard Union, fantastic food and more.
Tickets to the Queen’s Plate Festival can be purchased at Ticketmaster.ca.
