Canadian/Ontario-bred sales horses can end up anywhere, which can sometimes make it tough for local breeders to follow them.

But a lot of internet digging recently produced videos and a race record of a two-year-old colt sold by Katie Browne and Brian Bell last fall at Fasig-Tipton October for $30,000.

ROYAL BOY (Caracaro – Dance Play by Malibu Moon), sold for Browne and Bell by Browne’s mother Sue Foreman, went to Russia to race and this year is three-for-three in his young career.  The handsome bay won a conditions race at Krasnodar Hippodrome on July 20 and then reeled off consecutive Russian Group 1s at that track. On August 24 the colt won the one-mile race of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodor Territory and on Oct. 19 led throughout to win the Grand Prix, also at one mile.

The colt is owned by Krasnokutskiy Farm and trained by A. Shegushev.

Browne and Bell bred one other foal from their mare Dance Play. Ravin’s Town is a two-time winner and a previous foal of the mare, Rambert, has won four of 18 and over $174,000.

Browne and Bell currently have a yearling from the mare, a colt by Yoshida (Jpn) who is for sale.
