Juveniles foaled in Ontario have been making a statement at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales’ Spring Sale Under Tack Show this week.
A flashy chestnut colt from the first crop of American champion Jack Christopher from the Ontario-bred mare Sugar Jones, worked two furlongs in 20 4/5, tied for the fastest quarter mile on the second day of the under tack show. A colt by Nyquist from Canadian Horse of the Year Caren worked the same distance in a sharp 21 1/5.
A juvenile by War Front from Say Hey (FR) sped one furlong in 9 4/5.
There are eight Ontario-breds in the auction that begins on April 14.
