you're listening to an article from canadian thoroughbred.com. ontario sports hall of fame induction ceremony set for woodbine. on saturday, woodbine racetrack will play host to the ontario sports hall of fame induction ceremony honouring some of ontario’s finest athletes. the star-studded event kicks off at woodbine’s trackside tent at 11 a.m. inductees include former world heavyweight boxing champion lennox lewis; dual horse racing hall of fame trainer roger attfield; world figure skating champion brian orser; olympic gold medalist cassie campbell and former nhl great andy bathgate. advertisement scroll to continue with content receiving the honour posthumously is former heavyweight boxing champ tommy burns. the inductees will be paraded, in convertibles, on the racetrack following the first race and the group will present to the winning connections of the second race. as well, toronto maple leaf legend, darryl sittler, will be presented with the sandy hawley award which honours outstanding community service. sittler has made significant contributions in the fight against cancer. in addition, tsn broadcaster dave hodge will be honoured with the brian williams award for outstanding broadcasting. tickets for the event, including a full brunch buffet and meet and greet with the athletes, can be purchased at the entrance to the trackside tent. media are welcome for photos and interviews.
