When the 2-year-old dark bay filly DREAMINOFPASSION powered her way to the lead in a maiden filly race at Woodbine on November 18, she became the first winner for her young sire PASSION FOR ACTION, who stands at Colebrook Farms in Uxbridge, ON.

Dreaminofpassion, bred and owned by Joey Gee Thoroughbreds, had registered a :46.40 bullet workout for four furlongs at Woodbine on November 11 for trainer Andrew Smith.

Ridden by Corey Jordan, Dreaminofpassion, a daughter of the Gotcha Gold mare Dreaminofcarmela C, chased a hot pace of :22.05 for the first two furlongs and moved to the lead late on the turn for home. Despite racing greenly, the filly drew off to win by three lengths over her 11 rivals in 1:05.75 for 5 1/2 furlongs.

Dreaminofpassion is just the seventh starter for Passion for Action from his first crop.

The 9-year-old stallion was bred and raced by Ben Hutzel and trained by Mike DePaulo. He won the Grade 2 Highlander S. (6 fur. on turf), Grade 3 Vigil S. (7 fur. Tapeta), Jacques Cartier S. (6 fur. Tapeta) and was second in the Grade 2 Connaught Cup S. (7 fur. turf), and Grade 2 Kennedy Road S.

As a 2-year-old the son of top sire and sire of sires Speightstown won the 1 1/16 mile Cup & Saucer Stakes on the turf.

SPEIGHTSTOWN (2022 fee $90,000(US)). is currently the fourth leading Sire in North America with progeny earnings over $12.5million, 114 career black-type winners and 20 Grade 1 winners worldwide. Speightstown is also the sire of 2021 top-10 sire Munnings and third Leading Second Crop Sire, Speightster.

Passion for Action’s dam, MARITIME PASSION, was a brilliant stakes winner at 2 and is a daughter of top North American sire STORMY ATLANTIC.
