The lucrative Ontario Thoroughbred Improvement Program has awarded dozens of breeders of Ontario-bred/Ontario-sired horses for 2022, and Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs topped the list at the $200,000 cap. That cap does not include the breeder awards of $50,000 and $30,000 respectively for MOIRA winning the Queen’s Plate and Woodbine Oaks.

The top 20 list by breeder’s awards includes many longtime Thoroughbred breeders in the province including Ivan Dalos’ Tall Oaks Farm, Sam-Son Farm, the Everatt family, Dr. John Brown’s Spring Farm, Terra Racing and others.

Joe Guerrieri’s Joey Gee Thoroughbreds had an impressive year with his homebreds which included multiple stakes-placed HALL OF DREAMS, a son of Lemon Drop Kid, who was second in the Plate Trial, Plate, and Breeders’ Stakes.
