As the world’s top racehorse Romantic Warrior surged to the lead on his way to his fourth straight Hong Kong Cup (G1) win, a man ran onto the Sha Tin course with a sign in hand. It was only seconds before the man was taken down by the assistant starter and a vet, but since the horses were nearing, they had to hold the protester down while the field ran past.

According to The Mirror, Hong Kong Jockey Club CEO Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges suggested the incident related to the handling of the devastating tower block fire in Tai Po in which 160 people died.
