Assiniboia Downs has been experiencing a stellar season to date but are taking nothing for granted. The track is now announcing a purse increase across the board to reward the loyal horse people that are such a critical part of that success.
Effective today, purses have been increased in every category. Some highlights include a 25% increase in the Maiden Allowance races to $20,000, a 20% bump for the Open Allowance races to $24,000 and the new minimum “open” stakes race has now been elevated to $40,000.
“Our community of owners, trainers and jockeys continue to be so supportive of the racing program here,” said Darren Dunn, CEO. “We are happy to be in a position that we can introduce these increases to the purses.
