Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame inductee, multiple Grade 1 winner and Canadian champion SHAMAN GHOST has returned to his birth province to stand his fourth season at stud. The 7-year-old son of top sire Ghostzapper (fee $85,000) – Getback Time by Gilded Time is one of four stallions announced at Adena Springs North in Aurora, ON, and he has a $7,500 fee.
Shaman Ghost won the 2015 Queen’s Plate and was second in the Prince of Wales Stakes for Stronach Stables and trainer Brian Lynch. As a 4-year-old, the strapping dark bay joined trainer James Jerkens and won the Grade 1 Woodward Stakes and the Grade 2 Brooklyn Handicap. At 5 he won the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap, the Grade 3 Pimlico Special and was second to Arrogate in the Pegasus World Cup (G1). He won 8 of 17 races and $3.8 million.
Well traveled as a racehorse and a winner on dirt or all-weather surfaces, Shaman Ghost entered stud in 2018 in California where he was well received. He was moved to Kentucky in 2019 to stand alongside Ghostzapper at Adena Springs Kentucky. When Stronach put his Kentucky farm up for sale, Ghostzapper and Mucho Macho Man moved to Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa. Shaman Ghost came north.

POINT OF ENTRY arrives at Adena Springs North following seven seasons in Kentucky and this is a multiple Grade 1 winning son of leading sire Dynaformer. Among his Grade 1 wins was the trio of the Man o’ War, Sword Dancer and Joe Hirsch Invitational, the first horse since champion Theatrical to win those major events in one season.
Point of Entry had four new stakes winners in 2020 including graded stakes winning Admission Office and precocious 2-year-old filly Emro. His top runners include $1.7 million earner Plus Que Parfait (UAE Derby (G2), etc.), Analyze It ($853,000) and Woodbine 2-year-old stakes winners My Gal Betty and Glamanation.
His 3-year-old son Malibu Mambo was recently third in the Grade 3 Ontario Derby at Woodbine.

AMERICAN GURU (Unbridled’s Song – Camargue by Mineshaft) stands his first season at stud in 2021 and has a fee of $3,000. This talented runner won 4 of 7 races from 5 furlongs to 1 mile on turf and Tapeta. He won a one mile turf race at Belmont Park in 1:32.09.
American Guru’s dam is a three-quarter sister to INDY FIVE HUNDRED – dam of ALBERT PARK, MAGNY COURS – a dual European Listed winner in 2020 and Magical Crown – dam of TWO European Listed winners in 2020 and DELTA PRINCESS (dam of CROWN QUEEN, DELTA PRINCE, ROYAL DELTA).
The three newcomers to Adena Springs North join Canada’s Leading Sire of 2020 SILENT NAME (Jpn), whose graded stakes-winning son Silent Poet is a contender for Champion Turf Male honours in Canada for 2020. Silent Name’s 38 winners (through Dec. 6) also leads all Canadian sires.
