The 101st Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale is taking place August 8 and 9 in the Humphrey S. Finney Sales Pavilion. Three Ontario-breds are among the 216 select yearlings.
The sales sessions begin at 6:30 p.m. Stallions represented by their first crop include AUDIBLE, MITOLE, VINO ROSSO, OMAHA BEACH, and Canadian/Ontario-bred FLAMEAWAY, a son of Scat Daddy.
A trio of Ontario-bred yearlings have been entered in the sale, one from David Anderson’s Anderson Farms and two from breeders Christine and Jay Hayden, both of which are selling with consignor Cara Bloodstock of Bernard McCormack.
All three sell on Tuesday evening.

This chestnut colt was foaled on February 13, 2021 and is out of graded stakes winning mare Unspurned. Unspurned (Lemon Drop Kid) won the G3 Whimsical and was placed in the G3 Mazarine and G3 Hendrie.
The sire, Justify, needs no introduction. The Triple Crown winner was undefeated in six starts. He entered stud in 2019 and is currently the leading first-crop sire by total progeny earnings, average earnings per runner, graded stakes winners, and % of black-type winners per runner.

The dark bay or brown colt was foaled on April 2, 2021 and is out of lightly-raced War Front mare Beychevelle. Beychevelle has produced three foals, and one starter.
Second dam La Conseillante produced War Envoy (War Front) who was graded stakes-placed, and a Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, and Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile participant on route to earning $494,781.
193 – NYQUIST-FULL TAP, by Tapit, B F ANDERSON FARMS

The bay filly was foaled on February 5, 2021 and is out of Full Tap (Tapit) who was a winner at two and three.
She is a half-sister to Ontario-bred Cafe Society (Empire Maker). Cafe Society broke her maiden at first asking at two, and has a win and two runner-up finishes in four starts this year. She was a $475,000 purchase at the 2020 OBS Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in training.
Nyquist is the third leading third-crop sire thus far in 2022, and second leading cumulative third-crop sire. His standout progeny include Vequist 2020 G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner, and Ontario-bred Grade 1 winner Gretzky the Great, the 2020 Sovereign Award winner for champion two-year-old.
