After sessions four and five of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock sale, a few more Canadians are bringing  horses north.

The sale has been strong, making it difficult for locals to keep up with the high prices, but some have been successful in the bidding wars.

Among the buyers on Friday and Saturday:

R. GLENN SIKURA purchased Ontario-bred FRIENDS FOR LIFE for $112,000 in foal to Forte;

JOSHAM FARMS, which already purchased a mare earlier in the sale (hip 472), bought DEMANDRESPECT for $240,000 in foal to Tiz the Law;

JESSE KORONA, breeder of King’s Plate winner Caitlinhergrtness, has been buying for clients including AMPLIFY STABLE of Evan Sandhu. Amplify’s purchases were GIRL ON FILM in foal to Oscar Performance for $30,000 and SING ME HOME (GB) in foal to Yaupon for $25,000;

Korona also bought a mare for new breeders SERKAN and SELIM CEYLAN’s of Ceybros Corporation. The brothers bought DISSONANCE, in foal to Newgate for $30,000;

DOUG OBERG of Alberta paid $12,000 for a weanling filly by Knicks Go;

DR. BRIAN VAN AREM bought JENNY’S ROCKET, a Mr. Greeley mare, in foal to Hard Spun for $70,000;

Dave Clancy’s Track West Racing bought SCALABLE FLOWER, by Munnings, in foal to Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) winner Elite Power. Clancy, through agent Tex. T, paid $125,000;

Among the Canadian-breds that sold was a Vekoma weanling out of Weekend in Malibu that was offered by Cara Bloodstock and was bought for $100,000. Eaton Sales, agent sold a Jackie’s Warrior Ontario-bred weanling colt for $155,000. Track West Racing sold a Two Phil’s weanling filly for $105,000 and Paramount Sales, agent, sold a Tiz the Law – Starving Artist weanling for $150,000.
