Silent Sonet, a troubled third in her last start, rewarded the faith of her backers here Sunday with an emphatic 6 ¼-length victory in the $125,000 La Prevoyante Stakes.

The La Prevoyante a one-mile turf race for Ontario-sired 3-year-old fillies, attracted a field of eight and Silver Sonet ruled as the 1-2 favorite under new rider Eurico Rosa da Silva.

“I was very confident that my horse was going to run very big,” said Da Silva, who had become acquainted with Silent Sonet when he breezed her for trainer Nick Gonzalez nine days ago.
