The Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) is pleased to announce that Steven Lehman has been named to the new position of CAO. He will assume his duties effective January 24, 2007.

A Chartered Accountant with over 15 years experience in various industry sectors –including 2 years as Chief Financial Officer for the Ontario Harness Horse Association – he comes to the ORC with a solid background and knowledge of regulatory environments, municipal government and policing.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Steven will be responsible for Financial Planning, Corporate Policy, Government Liaison, Administration, Information Technology and Information Services, Internal and External Communications and Human Resources.

As indicated in the announcement of the search for a CAO, this move is one in a series of administrative reorganizations that will ensure the ORC continues to be an efficient and effective regulator and a provider of quality service to the horse racing community.

It is in keeping with efforts to reorganize, redesign workloads, and identify areas for enhancement.

The ORC is fortunate to have an individual with not only financial experience and knowledge of the horse racing community but also the leadership, analytical and interpersonal skills, which will enable us to become more innovative and continue to add value to the horse racing experience.
