The Jockey Club of Canada, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and improving Thoroughbred racing, is working hard to get their message out and increase their exposure.

Plans include a complete overhaul of their website and revamping of their social media presence, plus new sponsorship opportunities.

In a press release, they said: “We rely on the goodwill of many to make our services available to the thoroughbred racing and breeding community. In 2016-2017 we are looking to scale up our fundraising efforts and offer many opportunities for your involvement.” Details will be available this fall.

In the meantime, they encourage members to visit their Facebook page, to stay up to date on news and to share their own success stories. “Our goal is to broaden our base in the industry and invite new people into the sport. Social media and social events and corporate sponsorship participation play a fundamental role in involving our community.”

Another aspect of their plans is to shake things up is to host the 42nd annual Sovereign Awards at a new venue next year. “After extensive consultation and the desire to freshen things up, we have chosen to host the 2017 event at the magnificent Palais Royale in Toronto. Mark your calendars for April 6, 2017. With your support, we are hoping to make the 2017 event the biggest and best.”
