There was quite a bit of interest in breeding stock and young racehorses at the CTHS Ontario Mixed Sale at the Woodbine sale pavilion on October 19. A slightly smaller catalog than a year ago realized large increases in gross sales, average price, and median.

Stakes winner BLURRICANE, offered for sale in foal to multiple stakes winner Passion for Action (Speightstown), was one of three horses that brought the sale’s top price of $35,000. Consigned by the new Ballycroy Bloodstock located in Loretto, ON, for her owners Dennis Mitchell, Ken Lee, and Don and Gaye Belle, Blurricane was bought by Ballycroy Bloodstock which is owned by Steve Kemp.

Blurricane, who won 11 races and over $668,000, is a daughter of Rebellion (GB) and she has produced a yearling by Silent Name (Jpn) and a weanling by Ami’s Gizmo.
