Multiple champion Alberta trainer TIM RYCROFT won six of the 18 Thoroughbred races on the first two days of the 2021 Century Mile season. The one-mile Nisku track had its opening day delayed one week but opened Friday May 21 followed by a May 23 card.

Rycroft won four races on opening night and two more on Sunday. Bar None Ranches won four races over the two days.

WAR GIANT’S quick win in the opener on Sunday was one of the more impressive performances of the first two cards. The 6-year-old by Data Link won the 5-furlong allowance race in a fast 56.48, just missing the track record of 56.11. War Giant is owned by Crystal Cates and Gonzalo Anderson and trained by Rycroft.
