Elbows Up!
Fittingly, the top yearling sale in Canada, the Canadian Premier Yearling Sale hosted by the CTHS Ontario, begins with a youngster named Elbows Up, a colt by top Canadian sire Silent Name (Jpn) from the seven-time winning mare Kit Kat Katie by Sky Mesa. The Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent offering is the first of 2015 yearlings catalogued for the Wednesday, August 27 auction, which will start at 12 noon at the Woodbine sale pavilion.
Yearlings from the first crops of Ontario stallions COLLUSION ILLUSION, a Grade 1 winner by Twirling Candy, champion and Grade 2 winner AVIE’S FLATTER and SERVE THE KING, a Grade 2 winner in New York by Kingman, are entered. And freshman sire for 2025 BOND STREET has yearlings in the sale. Leading Ontario sires such as BIG SCREEN, OLD FORESTER, SOUPER SPEEDY, SHAMAN GHOST and RELOAD are also represented.
ROCK YOUR WORLD, BY MY STANDARDS, MAXFIELD and MODERNIST are off to flying starts with their two-year-olds this year and these US stallions have yearlings in the CTHS sale.
And there is also a yearling from the final crop of leading US sire SPEIGHTSTOWN, who passed away in 2023. Other sharp American sires with yearlings in the sale include Grade 1 winners SPEAKER’S CORNER and DRAIN THE CLOCK, Speightstown stakes-winning son NASHVILLE and leading sire CAIRO PRINCE.
