Across Canada in 2025, there were dozens of Thoroughbreds who were stars on their own circuit, whether they were winning stakes races or claiming races. Fans love to bet on them and grooms, owners and trainers and breeders celebrate when they race.

Here are some of the horses at Canadian tracks who won the most races in the country, even adding wins at other tracks during the 2025 season.

Most wins at one meeting – MAXIMUM FIFTY won six races at Woodbine, the most of any horse at any one meeting in Canada in 2025. The four-year-old speedster by Souper Speedy – Pohdi Pohdi by Old Forester was virtually unbeatable in 2025 for owner/breeders 3 Sons Racing Stables, Mad Dog Racing Stables and she won her finale for Frank DiGuilio Jr.

Trained by Robert Tiller, who won four times with the bay filly, Maximum Fifty earned $249,000 last season and she is 10-for-18 in her career. Her wins came at the $32,000 claiming/optional claiming level for most of the season.

Three horses tied with five wins at Woodbine this year, they were INDY ONE, SOUPER SUCCESS and LOVE YOU LIPPY.

TREVESS won five races to lead the Fort Erie meeting.

In Manitoba at ASSINIBOIA DOWNS, the amazing 10-year-old gelding BEST OF GREELEY won five of 13 races to be the winningest horse at that track in 2025. A Kentucky-bred by Greeley’s Conquest, Best of Greeley began the year at Fonner Park and he came to Assiniboia in May for trainer Steve Keplin Jr. who had claimed him for just $2,500 on April 6 for a second-place finish.

Best of Greeley was claimed seven times in 2025. In his career he has won 13 races from 67 starters and over $391,000. He was claimed for $3,000 from his final start of the season by owner/trainer Ray Gardipy.

At Assiniboia in 2025, nine horses tied with four wins.

At HASTINGS RACECOURSE, RONDELITO won five of seven races and four of them were stakes races including the Grade 3 BC Derby. A three-year-old BC-bred son of Lent – Vandelita by Street Sense, Rondelito is sure to be a finalist for Champion three-year-old male in Canada at the Sovereign Awards. He is owned by Lorie Henson and trained by Steve Henson. Christina Ammann bred the dark bay.

In Alberta, JACRODRA’S DEVIL won eight races at Lethbridge and Grand Prairie from her 10 starts. The chestnut mare, a six-year-old California-bred by Smiling Tiger, raced for owner and trainer Lyle Magnusson and she several minor stakes races during the season.

And BC-bred LOVEABOVEANDBEYOND, with eight wins in 10 starts at Century Mile and Turf Paradise, was the leading race-winning Canadian-bred of the year. The five-year-old mare by Counterforce – Interrogar by Tejabo is owned by Marvin and Deb Buffalo. Bred by Ralph Jesiak, Loveaboveandbeyond won two stakes as a juvenile, the BC Cup Debutante and the CTHS Sales Stakes. She has 14 career wins from 38 races and over $165,000 in earnings. Her most recent race was a win at Turf Paradise on December 4.

Loveaboveandbeyond’s third dam, Dewans Advocate, is the dam of of 1995 Breeders’ Stakes winner Charlie’s Dewan and is granddam of stakes winners Grace for You, Ronaldino and Huitzilopochiti.
