Trainer Robertino Diodoro will saddle two contenders in the 96th Running of the Canadian Derby on Saturday, August 23rd. Breeder/owner Randy Howg is chasing redemption with Take Charge Tom, while Norman Tremblay and Janet Kropp are eyeing another victory with Wood Ceiling.
For Robertino, it’s more than just horses, his owners are friends who’ve been with him since his early days on Alberta “B” circuit race tracks, now competing together at the highest levels of the sport.
Calgary-born Diodoro has captured the Canadian Derby four times and amassed over $72 million in career earnings.
