Woodbine Racetrack is currently undergoing a Secondary Plan Study that will help shape the future development of the area surrounding the racetrack. These planning decisions could have long-term implications for our racing community including backstretch operations, stabling, training access, and the overall footprint of the Thoroughbred industry in Ontario.

Importantly, the plan may impact the Sales Pavilion, sales barns, and the future of our yearling sales. These facilities are critical to the success of our annual sale and to the broader commercial breeding sector. Any changes to land use, infrastructure, or access could directly affect how and where we conduct our sales in the years ahead.

We strongly encourage all members to stay informed and attend the upcoming public meetings if possible. Participation from horsepeople is essential to ensure our industry’s needs and economic impact are clearly understood and considered as plans move forward. Your presence and perspective matter.

From the Event Coordinators:

The City of Toronto is advancing a mixed-use Transit Oriented Community at the future Woodbine GO Station located within the southeast quadrant of the lands at 555 Rexdale Boulevard. For this, the City Planning Division is undertaking a Secondary Plan Study of the area to facilitate and support appropriate residential and non-residential growth. A Transportation Master Plan (TMP) is also being undertaken by the landowner, Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) together with the City, to inform the Secondary Plan Study and related policy development. Join us for a Community Consultation Meeting to learn more about the Secondary Plan Study and the Transportation Master Plan.

Directions for joining the event either online or by telephone will be provided to you by email after you register for this event.
