Hill ‘n’ Dale Equine Holdings, Inc. of John Sikura and the Windsor Boys Racing group will be glued to the TV or computer Saturday afternoon as their Canadian-bred SHARE THE UPSIDE (by MacLean’s Music – Mystic Silver by Silver Deputy) tackles the Grade 3 Count Fleet Stakes at Oaklawn Park.
Bred by Sikura and foaled at Glenn Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms Canada, Share the Upside won his first stakes race two starts ago in the King Cotton Stakes and was recently fifth in the Hot Springs Stakes behind Whitmore and others who are in the Count Fleet.
Share the Upside was bought back as a yearling for $75,000 by Sikura and the gelding, now 5-years-old, was carefully managed and trained by Steve Asmussen as he wound his way through his conditions.
The gelding posted a 104 Beyer Speed Figure taking the King Cotton and could be in a prime spot to bounce back in the tough Count Fleet.
Windsor Boys and Sikura could have been accepting a Sovereign Award for their 2-year-old filly Curlin’s Voyage this week but the awards have been postponed due to the COVID-19 virus. Curlin’s Voyage, trained by Josie Carroll, has recorded a few workouts in Florida up to mid March.
JOEL QUENNEVILLE, coach of the Florida Panthers of the NHL and a 3-time Stanley Cup winning coach,, is a partner in Windsor Boys and he recently talked about what he is doing during the COVID-19 pandemic while staying at home.
The headline race at Oaklawn on Saturday is the Grade 1 Apple Blossom with a big, strong field including Grade 1 winners SERENGETI EMPRESS, OLLIE’S CANDY, CE CE and riding star POINT OF HONOR.
