Coronation Futurity winner HALO AGAIN and impressive debut winner SYCAMORE RUN, both bred in Ontario by Anderson Farms, are among 14 entrants for the Jan. 18 Lecomte Stakes at Fair Grounds. The Lecomte is the first race of the Fair Grounds series of races than ends with the Louisiana Derby, a Kentucky Derby prep.

HALO AGAIN, by Speightstown – Halos Verse by Unbridled’s Song is undefeated in two starts including his upset win in the Coronation on Tapeta last October at Woodbine. Sycamore Run,  by Street Sense – Dattt Echo by Stormy Atlantic, led all the way to win a sprint maiden allowance recently for trainer Joe Sharp.

*MIKE WRIGHT is off to a good start at Tampa Bay Downs. He sent out another winner, Jan. 10, when OX TROT, owned by Gina Wright, won an $8,000 claiming race at seven furlongs on the dirt. The 5-year-old by Oxbow is a Woodbine regular and is one of 2 winners for Wright from limited starters since he moved his stable to Tampa Bay.

*RAZEENA, an Ontario bred by Malibu Moon who finished 5th in the Bison City Stakes at Woodbine last year and is Group 3 placed, won her maiden at Fair Grounds last week on the grass. Bred by Anderson Farms, Razeena is a 4-year-old out of Pink Palace.

*Barry Kerbel claimed Preacher Power from a grass race at Gulfstream, Jan. 12, a $30,000 claiming event won by Gary Barber’s Tricky Magician, trained by Mark Casse. Barber and Casse also claimed a horse from the race, runner-up Vegas Kitten.
