Toronto, ON – Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) today announced that wagering on its tracks, Woodbine and Mohawk, is now available in racebooks throughout the state of Nevada.
Five thoroughbred cards and five standardbred cards per week are being beamed into most of the state’s 83 racebooks, including high-profile destinations Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Caesars Palace and Mirage on the Las Vegas strip.
“We have been very focussed on increasing our visibility in the United States, to get Woodbine products in front of more horseplayers and Las Vegas provides a great opportunity for that,” said Sean Pinsonneault, WEG’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our racing, which features some of the largest fields and purses in North America for both breeds of racing, has proven to be very attractive to horseplayers.”
The expanded distribution comes as some of WEG’s highest profile races near. The $500,000 Woodbine Oaks, presented by Budweiser, goes this Sunday, the $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup at Mohawk is set for June 26 and the $1 million Queen’s Plate is on July 4.
