It had been almost three years since BEDAZZLE ME had visited the winner’s circle for owners and breeders Robert and Patricia Weber, but the tough grey mare had done her best at collecting some good earnings throughout that time. The Ontario-bred by Frac Daddy’s lucky day came on Sunday, May 10 at Woodbine when, in her second outing of the season, against a small field that got easier when heavy favourite Zabo scratched, Bedazzle Me battled to her third career win.

The $40,000 claiming/optional race at 1 1/16 miles was not without some drama. The mare has been ridden almost exclusively by David Moran, but on Sunday it was his son Pietro who took the mount. Moran, aboard the Nathan Squires-trained Motion Granted (who has ridden to a couple of wins) sent his gelding on a mad speed mission out of the gate, crossed over a bit too soon and interfered with Mohaymen Diamond. In the stretch run, Motion Granted could not hold off Bedazzle Me and the grey mare broke through for a well-earned victory. Anthony Pottinger is the trainer of Bedazzle Me, who is a daughter of Frac Daddy and was co-bred by Michael Byrne.

David Moran’s horse Motion Granted was disqualified from second and placed fourth.

ELGIN PARK is a two-time winner at the 2026 Woodbine meeting after a bold, front-running score on Sunday for $25,000 claiming. The Ontario-bred by Spun to Run was ridden to victory by Ryan Munger in his first start of the season, but Eswan Flores was aboard for the second win. Elgin Park was bred by Ballycroy Bloodstock and he is owned by Natural Eight Stable and Bob and Margaret Crocket.

Bill Tharrenos also won the last race at Woodbine on Sunday when longtime maiden CONN SMYTHE (GB) broke his maiden. It was the second win of the day for jockey Jeff Alderson.

The sizzling barn of DEBRA ROMBIS, owner and trainer, continues its hot hand as ALLBETSAREOFF broke his maiden for $23,500 in his season debut on Sunday. The Social Inclusion gelding, ridden by Jeff Alderson, overcame some trouble in the stretch run and nabbed favoured Complete Response from well off the pace. The latter was second, but under left-handed whipping drifted out and caused interference to several rivals and he was disqualified and placed fourth.

JULIA CAREY won two races on Sunday. First time starter EMPLY HANDED, bred and owned in part by Tom McCrocklin and Frank Mermenstein, won her debut despite a slow start in race 1. Ryan Munger rode the Neolithic filly. Later, Later Ross and Brenda McKague’s homebred BRACHETTO broke his maiden with a strong rally, nabbing Mister Blue who went wild on the pace and got tired. Braccheto was another winner for Munger. The colt is a son of Vekoma.
