Canadian Premier Yearling Sale graduates and graduates of CTHS sales across Canada are on display Sunday, August. 30 in four rich stakes events at Woodbine. The 2-year-olds compete for a whopping $250,000 in the Simcoe, for colts and geldings, and Muskoka Stakes, for fillies.

The Elgin and Algoma, for 3-year-olds (changed from recent years which were for 3 and up) offer purses of $135,000 each. A portion of the purses is supplied by the Thoroughbred Improvement Program.

Two sales stakes, the Kenora and Halton, were discontinued.

Success of sales graduates from the CTHS Ontario sale has been well documented and the latest stories can be found at the www.cthsont.com website.  There are four yearlings offered from the estate of Gus Schickedanz and one of them, hip no. 144, is a full sibling to APPELLA, who won her maiden impressively at Woodbine on Thursday.
