RACE 1:   1 – SOUPER SUCCESS; 2- MR. MARSHALL;  5- CANADIAN AVRO; 4 – ABSOLUTE CHAIRMAN

At even-money in the morning line odds, you won’t get rich playing the trusty old timer Souper Success but he is winter raced and should be happy to be back home. The same can be said for Mr. Marshall, who won two straight races here before he raced on dirt during the winter.

RACE 2:  4- ITS JUST MONEY; 6 – IF YOU INSIST;  2- ROAD TO VERSAILLES;   3- BACK RIVER

The Camhaven Farms horses raced in New Orleans during the winter and Its Just Money won his maiden in January and had a good effort last time in a modest key race.  If You Insist won his 2024 season debut with a speed style and he should be quick enough for this slightly shorter race. Winter raced Road to Versailles is very logical off the narrow loss at Gulfstream.

RACE 3:  4- FLASHY MOTOR;  6 – MISS DEMANDING; 2:  SILENT AND SINFUL; 1 MO ARGENTO

 

RACE 4:   2 – RHAENYRA; 6 – CITORI; 1 – SILENT STRIKE; 3 – JUST PRAY

The newest Sovereign Award winning trainer Kevin Attard sends out Rhaenyra with first time blinkers and she should be prominent right out of the gate.

First time starter Citori, a half sister to fast winner African Safari, had a big workout on April 20.

RACE 7:   3 – CHURCH AND STATE;  1 – WAR OF DESTINY;  9 – NOTORIOUS GANGSTER; 5 – INCOMING

The 6 furlong Woodstock Stakes has 3-year-olds bred here and the US, some speed and several closing types. I am leaning to closing types and local fellow Church and State has had good workouts this spring  and looks like a stakes win is in his future. He must hurry. War of Destiny earned a 75 Beyer Figure from his maiden win and he has been gelded since his last race. Coronation Futurity winner  ‘Gangster’ will also have to hurry at this short distance.
