HAVE YOU SEEN THIS RACE??
Before we get into the weekend wrap, you must watch MAXIMUM RIDE winning her debut for Carol Mott of THE MOTTS show (www.themotts.ca). The filly was trying 2 turns for her opener and it was a wild ride for her rider Sunny Singh (about 1:27 of the replay. watch the filly move quickly up the rail, with Sunny apparently forgetting to steer!):
Congrats to Carol and Paul Mott, who are fun and interesting to listen to and read about on their website, they love their horses too! Super that they bred this filly themselves….way to go! Also congrats to trainer Jim Hutchison for having this Where’s the Ring filly ready for a super Ride!
‘WEEEEIIIIII’! WILD WACKINESS AT WOODBINE
Tie Endie Wei wraps up champion 2yo filly Sovereign

There was a long sigh of relief from purists at the track when TU ENDIE WEI screamed to a sizzling win in the GLORIOUS SONG STAKES at Woodbine on Sunday.
One of the most exciting horses to race at Woodbine this season, the 2yo by Johar got back into winning form after a messy run in the Grade 1 Alcibiades and was one of few logical winners at Woodbine over the 2 day – 20 races weekend, the 4th last weekend of the season.
Brereton Jones’ homebred seems a cinch to be voted the champion 2yo filly in Canada now since she was unbeaten in all 3 local races and her Beyer Figures were among the best of any 2yo filly in North America:

Yesterday, TU ENDIE WEI drove off to a big win in 1:21 4/5 for 7 furlongs and it was thought she was going to
get a bigger Beyer than 82, but the track has indeed been fast in the last week – very fast.
Tu Endie Wei broke sharply under jockey Jim McAleney notching a quarter in :22.61 and a half in :45.41 while
under pressure from a rail-riding Galan’s Wings, and Las Malvegas, who tracked from just off Tu Endie Wei’s
right flank. Tu Endie Wei turned for home with a three-length lead, with Miss Scarlett Road looming into
contention, but McAleney asked his filly for more and she responded with a sharp burst of speed, opening up
to win by four and three-quarter lengths. Sweet Seventeen was up for place, half a length in front of a
quick-closing Runfor Ro. The final running time was 1:21.97. McAleney, who noted that the filly had trouble in the starting gate in the Alcibiades, was content with his filly’s start in the Glorious Song.
“She was a little bit hesitant, but a ton better,” said McAleney. “Reade (Baker) has done a great job with this filly. She was much more calm, much more composed, and it made all the difference today.” The jockey is hopeful the speedy bay filly will be able to relax a little more as she matures.
“Ideally, we’d like to get her to settle down and get her off the pace,” said McAleney. “Right now, she’s a very forward, very talented filly and that put her where she was today. Once we got to the five-eighths, the half, we had the position we had and I had so much horse, it was just a matter of nursing her along. if you look closely, you can see her ears pricked and she’s just loping.”
MORE SUNDAY….
MR. MONTY became the 8th 2yo winner for OLD FORESTER when he won the first race, a maiden allowance.
Interesting in that race as only 2 colts had raced before in the big field and they race 1-2. Robert Tiller trains
Mr. Monty for the 3 Sons Racing. Old Forester is number 13 in North America by 2yo progeny earnings and he is CANADA’S LEADING SIRE through yesterday”:

Also on Sunday, the red-hot barns of DAN VELLA and JOHN MACKENZIE continue to roll. Yep, these 2 barns won races yesterday and have been winning at a surprising rate lately. It’s hard not to believe in the hot trainer theory when you seethings like STRANGRTHANFICTION (well named) come back and win and 15 to 1 for MacKenzie, who has won with Rick Rat and Avery Amour in recent days.
MANKAI BLOSSOM pulled up in a $10,00 claiming race on Sunday and she was entered in the Keeneland November sale yesterday too.
The filly joins RED EAGLE, SCHOOL GIRL, MR. CHOPIN AND BUFFALO WARRIOR as runners who have broke down or pulled up ouchy in the last week.

The crazy results at Woodbine continue full force these days and while it is sometimes not unexpected in the
claiming races and cheaper events during the week, when it happens in a graded stakes race, they is a cause for
a long pause.
Thanks to a very slow pace, made possible by all the jockeys on the major contenders in the Grade 2 Autumn
field, American invader STRAIGHT STORY led all the way to win the 1 1/16 mile race and throw the leading
older horse division into complete disarray. The son of Giant’s Causeway was in dreadful form and had never raced on a synthetic surface before. He was meeting bears like CITY WOLF, JAMES STREET, STUNNING STAG and the year’s top 3yo PENDER HARBOUR.
No matter, Jesse Campbell guided the white faced dude to the lead and laughed all the way to the wire while the local riders guzzled and went for a nap.
