COMING UP – ROAN INISH ARRIVES FOR PRINCESS ELIZABETH
ROAN INISH, a daughter of Canadian champion mare INISH GLORA is in town from overseas to compete in Saturdays Princess Elizabeth Stakes, the top race for canadian 2yo fillies.
The Bob Costigan-owned gal is the first local runner for Costigan’s daughter, Caroyn, who obtained her trainer’s license after 2 years as assistant to trainer Jim Bolger in Ireland.

WOODBINE SUNDAY WRAP
The wild rolls for trainers MIKE WRIGHT and KEVIN ATTARD continue at Woodbine.
Both conditioners, who were quiet for all of the summer, are winning with almost everything they send to the post.
WIGHT’S own 2yo filly LADY BOUDREAU, named for hockey player Bruce Boudreau, bounced back from a dull 2nd career start to win her maiden at 4 to 1 with a determined stretch run in the 6th, a maiden 2yo allowance. The One Way Love gal is out of the very good runner Dawn Edition and Wright is the breeder as well.
Lady Boudrea had finished well in her debut and ran a good number but was outrun last time.
Emile Ramsammy has been the new rider for a lot of the Wright runners.
Wright is 3 for his last 6 and 4 for his last 14 starters.
Attard won 2 more races yesterday and is 6 for his last 21 starters and 4 for his last 8.
His winners were KOENIGSBGER in an off the turf $40K claiming race. He is a Danzig gelding owned by Waterville Lake Stable.
LOLA B broke through for a long awaitd a win in the finale for Attard and owners Stephen Organ for $25K claiming,
The track was lightning fast on a sun splashed day with $12,500 claimers racing 6 furlongs in 1:09.81 in race 5.
The winner, VENOM was the first local winner for trainer NATHAN WALLIS.
The co-featured race was an Ontario foaled 2yo filly dash honouring the great mare FANFRELUCHE.
The winner was EATON HALL FARM’S BODUA (Celtic mytholigical goddess, means ‘animal tail’):
I thought she would be more relaxed and be a little further back. He
did the right thing and rode her well,” said Doyle.
The bay filly broke her maiden in a $50,000 claiming event on October
1. Doyle said she showed the same type of courage.
“She broke slow, ran up there and took the lead. It looked like she was
going to be run down the whole way but never did (give up the lead),” he
said. “I’m glad she didn’t get claimed for $50,000.”
Bred by Adena Springs, Bodua’s dam is Global, a seven-time winner of
over $300,000. Bodua’s sire is Irish-bred North Light, himself a son of
Danehill.
“She’s by a nice horse who is just getting started. That’s a really
good mare she’s out of,” he said. “She’s a nice filly. She’s got a lot
of ability. She’ll go further. She’ll definitely run around two turns.
That won’t be a problem.”
Bodua returned $20.50, $5.50 and $4, combining with Jenny’s So Great
($2.70, $2.10) for a $48.50 exactor. Attitude Included ($3.80) rounded
out a triactor worth $213.20.
The CHIEF BEARHART STAKES lost it star power when Grade 1 winner JAMBALAYA was scratched. The winner was the up and coming star SIMMARD, who drove to a handy score over COOL GATOR in the 1 1/4 milre turf event for Haras Santa Maria de Araras and trainer Roger Attfield, who is pushing on towards a possible Sovereign Award for the year’s most successful trainer.
BREEDERS’ CUP WORKOUTS

FATAL BULLET worked 5 furlongs in 58 4/5 on Sunday “like he was just going for a walk”, said trainer Reade Baker, and is ready to go for the Breeders’ Cup Spring on Nov. 7.
The reigning CANADIAN HORSE OF THE YEAR is not eligble to win any championships at the Sovereign Awards this season but he is Canadian owned, trained and ridden and he was 2nd in the Cup last year.

Oak Leaf Stakes winner Blind Luck worked six furlongs in 1:11.80 on Pro-Ride at Santa Anita Saturday under Tyler Baze, while Chocolate Candy went the same distance with Joel Rosario aboard in 1:14.40. “Super,” is how Jerry Hollendorfer assistant Dan Ward described the moves. “Chocolate Candy finished very well. They’re ready.”
Blind Luck is pointing to the $2 million Grey Goose Juvenile Fillies at 1 1/16 miles on Nov. 6, while Chocolate Candy goes in the $1 million Dirt Mile on Nov. 7.
In other Breeders’ Cup works on Pro-Ride Saturday: Cocoa Beach ($2 million Ladies’ Classic at 1 1/8 miles on Nov. 6) worked four furlongs for Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor in :47.60; Beautician (Juvenile Fillies) went five furlongs for trainer Ken McPeek in :59 flat; It Tiz (Juvenile Fillies) went six furlongs in 1:13.20 for trainer Mark Glatt; Norfolk Stakes runner-up Pulsion (Juvenile) went six furlongs in 1:15.40 for trainer Patrick Biancone; and Black Astor ($500,000 Marathon at 1 1/2 miles on Pro-Ride Nov. 6) went six furlongs for trainer Lisa Lewis in a bullet 1:11.60.
In turf works, Yellow Ribbon Stakes winner Magical Fantasy ($2 million Emirates Filly & Mare Turf at 1 1/4 miles) went five furlongs under Alex Solis in 1:01.20 for Paddy Gallagher, while Ferneley ($2 million TVG Mile) went six furlongs with Rafael Bejarano aboard in 1:13 for Ben Cecil.
“Magical Fantasy could not have looked any better all the way around,” said Turrell, in assessing the most impressive drills. “Ferneley’s last two works have been very powerful. He couldn’t be any more ready.”
Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird galloped two miles Saturday on Pro-Ride and will work five furlongs Monday, trainer Chip Woolley Jr. said.
Defending Filly & Mare Sprint champion Ventura worked six furlongs on Hollywood Park’s Cushion Track Saturday in 1:12.20 for the $1 million Sentient Jet Filly & Mare Sprint at seven furlongs on Nov. 6, while Visit (Filly & Mare Turf) went four furlongs on the same surface in :49.60. The English-bred Proviso worked four furlongs for the Ladies’ Classic in :49.60. All three are trained by Hall of Famer Bobby Frankel and were ridden by Jose Dominguez.
“Bobby was happy with the works,” said his long-time assistant, Humberto Ascanio.
MINI STAKES AT FORT ERIE
The Fort Erie meeting is coming to a close and with it, the $8,000 and $10,000 level claiming races have arrived at Woodbine starting Wednesday night.
Yesterday at the Fort, two small stakes for 2yos were run.
SHARING THE LOVE, from the 2nd crop of New Mexico stallion YOUR EMMINENCE (Saint Ballado and a 1/2 to Unbridled Elaine and Glitter Woman) won the $27,500 Longshots OTB Cup by 3 lengths for owners The Ogilvies and trainer Tom Steer.
Danny David rode the Florida bred 2yo filly.
The GAME CUP was won by a Kentucky bred – FRONTIER WARRIOR (Canadian Frontier) rallied in the last few jumps to catch odds on Mobil Forum to win for Gail Gibbings.The $28,750 race was run at 6 furlongs.
The winning trainer is Marty Hinckson and Eric Edwards was wild in the saddle crossing the finish line.
