Each morning we have watched Canadian-bred WONDER GADOT leaping every stride or two as she begins her gallops. She was extra sassy on Tuesday morning. Cindy Pierson Dulay – horse-races.net

WONDER GADOT  – Breeders’ Cup notes:   The 3-year-old daughter of Medaglia d’Oro displayed her exuberance in her Tuesday exercise in preparation for Saturday’s Distaff. Trainer Mark Casse said Canada’s champion juvenile filly of last year thrives on racing. In what Casse calls her Wonder Woman imitation, Wonder Gadot added some joyful leaps into her gallop.

“She does that when she is feeling good,” he said. “She is all business the rest of the time but she just gets excited when she is training. She had a spirited gallop on Monday and her work (on Oct. 25 when she breezed a half-mile in 47 flat at Churchill, the best of 37 at the distance) was perfect.”

Wonder Gadot sometimes returns to the track the day after a workout in a deviation from the customary practice staying in the barn.
Casse is looking forward to Wonder Gadot’s return to Churchill.

“We know she loves Churchill,” he said. “The best race she ever ran was when she was second to Monomoy Girl in the Kentucky Oaks. Her last race wasn’t great (third in the Cotillion at Parx Racing on Sept. 22) but maybe she did not care for the track which was loose in parts.”

The filly is named for Gal Gadot, the actress who portrays Wonder Woman in the movie. (The last syllable of Gadot is pronounced “dot” and does not rhyme with “doe.”)

“She just amazes me,” Casse said. “After she worked on Oct. 25 I was walking her and five minutes later she was jumping with all four feet off the ground and kicking. She has a lot of energy. That is just her. It is not something you can train into them. They either have it or they don’t. She is a rare individual.”

CLIP & SAVE!  BREEDERS’ CUP PRIMER – Some notes from Thoroughblog by race:

FRIDAY – JUVENILE TURF SPRINT 5 1/2 FURLONGS –

First time this race has been run so it is ungraded.

Expecting SOLDIER’S CALL to be favoured based on near miss against older horses in the Prix l’Abbaye.

Lasix and has looked good this week.

Will also be using Canadian-bred SERGEI PROKOFIEV, WELL DONE FOX and SO PERFECT

Big field, short run to the turn.

JUVENILE FILLIES TURF – Hard to go past NEWSPAPEROFRECORD, who stalked a slow pace in her debut and then set the pace in the Miss Grillo. Looked awesome Wed. morning.

Euro’s also must be considered – EAST is very much hyped and unbeaten in 2 starts but she has widest post.

THE MACKEM BULLET has looked great this week and is a big filly with lots of experience. LILY’S CANDLE has been making mischief this week, been a bit naughty.

JUVENILE FILLIES Favoured BELLAFINA has post 10 and comes off booming win in the Chandelier, huge Beyer Figures. Most logical winner along with speedy SERENGETI EMPRESS.

Not far down on my list is REFLECT, who had some trouble halfway through the Alcibiades.

JUVENILE TURF – FORTY UNDER has been the hype horse all week with his stunning moves and his reach in his grass workout.  The favourite and probable winner (before post draw)  ANTHONY VAN DYCK, drew widest post and that hurts. Lasix for O’Brien/Moore.

Euros LINE OF DUTY and ARTHUR KITT also intriguing while MUCH BETTER is impressive-looking and has been strong since arriving at Churchill.

JUVENILE – GAME WINNER is impsing, professional, was in and out of the gate on Wed. morning and didn’t turn a hair. CODE OF HONOR is very strong and my longshot from recent trip in last race and appearance is STANDARD DEVIATION (blinkers on), whose stablemate Complexity is a speed power.

SATURDAY RACES coming up Thursday morning.
