BREAKING NEWS – R. Glenn Sikura (Hill ‘N’ Dale Canada), has sold MILWAUKEE APPEAL on behalf of CEC Farms to Ben Glass acting as the agent for Mr and Mrs Gary West. She leaves for Saratoga tomorrow and will later spend her breeding career at Dell Ridge farm in Kentucky. No stallion is confirmed though it certainly will be to an elite stallion befitting the Champion that Milwaukee Appeal is on the track.

QUEEN’S PLATE AFTERMATH
Whew, that was a hectic week with so many stories to ponder, lots of things to write and in the end, it was a good result to Canada’s most famous race.
INGLORIOUS is probably the best of the crop it seems and while her 90 Beyer Figure is on the low side, she did run fast for 1 1/4 miles, 2:02.63, VERY CLOSE TO THE 2:02.18 RECORD.
Now the question is, will the star filly, only the 6th to win the OAKS -PLATE DOUBLE go to Fort Erie for the Prince of Wales or will the Donver team try to go for the big races at Saratoga?

CANADA DAY, LET’S RE-CHARGE AND RET READY FOR MORE!
BIOFUEL RETURNS , DOMINION DAY LURES INTRIGUING GROUP…
The annual CANADA DAY RACING CARD at Woodbine is tomorrow and what a juicy one it is – ready for more action?
CANADIAN HORSE OF THE YEAR BIOFUEL is back as a proud big sister (the younger half sibling TUE ENDIE WEI won her debut in the My Dear Stakes last week and earned a 91 Beyer Figure!) .
The 4yo by Stormin Fever is in the $100,000 Sweet Briar Too S. at 7 furlongs with her regular rider Eurico Rosa Da Silva up.
The filly is ‘ready to go’ according to trainer Reade Baker and she has done well when she’s fresh, she also sprints okay.
She is 6 to 5 in the 7 horse field and in need of some pace to run at.
The big race of the day is the Grade 3 DOMINION DAY, one of the first races yours truly covered for any kind of publication. The year was….1988 and the inner was PALACE MARCH, I interviewed winning jockey JULIE KRONE and BILL MOTT was the trainer of the horse.
It’s a pretty cool race with many cool winners through the years since its inception in 1953
**WHAT 2 KENTUCKY DERBY WINNERS CAME AND WON THE DOMINION DAY???
the answer can be found on this page somewhere…
Friday, Woodbine, post time: 5:21 p.m. EDT

As for tomorrow’s race, it’s a real mish-mash of fellows. DON CAVALLO is the 3 to 1 favourite and he has strong Beyer Speed Figures. There are plenty of late running types in the 10 furlong race and only 3 in the big field of 11 have even tried the distance (none have won).
The pick from this corner is SO ELITE, to keep a Casse- Husbands roll going but STATELY VICTOR likes Woodbine, and invaders CENTER DIVIDER and ALCOMATCH are interesting. JAMES STREET is upwardly mobile and a selection of others have comparable Beyer Figures.
Speaking of Beyer Figures..come out to WOODBINE ON SATURDAY FOR A BEYER FIGURE SEMINAR with..ANDY BEYER!!
So many horsepeople at Woodbine continue to be dubious about the Beyers, so why not come out and ask questions about the ‘figs’ with Andy himself?
OH AND BY THE WAY…DECIDEDLY and FUNNY CIDE!
