BLUE GRASS – WOOD MEMORIAL, SANTA ANITA DERBY highlight packed day of racing

From CARPE DIEM, who looks very strong in the Blue Grass at Keeneland, to EL KABEIR and FROSTED in New York for the Wood to DORTMUND and my pick, PROSPECT PARK at Santa Anita, the Kentucky Derby preps are wrapping up.

Many Canadians also in action today but check the track at Keeneland as the last half of the opening day card had to be cancelled because of weather and a ton of rain perhaps washed much of the surface off. Speed favouring dirt today? We will see.

And then stay up until late tonight and get in on the MANDATORY PAYOUT of the HIGH 5 bet at Woodbine – the pool should get close to $3 million and all winning tickets get a share.

Some non-stakes picks today/horses to watch – JAPAN and HIGH RIDGE ROAD at Keeneland, GOOSE BUMPS at Santa Anita and my crazy longshot of the day, SALSA DOG at Gulfstream.
