The colliding of Da Silva’s filly and Contreras’ mount (Miss Inclined, Caribean Lady) was quite obvious through the stretch run and did cost Da Silva any chance of winning on Miss Inclined.
However, he did punch Contreras and the stewards, at least one of them, saw it on the gallop out…
Da Silva is off Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week.

Dutrow denied license
(KHRC denied Dutrow a license and the story includes Dutorw’s wild run with Canadian-bred WILD DESERT in the QUEEN’S PLATE years ago….
In response to a question about the circumstances of a fine and suspension in New Jersey in 2007, Dutrow acknowledged that he had a workout time recorded for Wild Desert at Monmouth Park that did not actually take place. The horse went on to win the Queen’s Plate in Canada while racing under the name of the late Bobby Frankel because Dutrow was serving a suspension at the time. Dutrow said he shared in the purse of the Queen’s Plate and that his stable likely billed the owner as if the horse was still in his stable.
Dutrow also said he had Wild Desert shipped to his barn at Aqueduct under a different name because a New York Racing Association official had told him the horse was not permitted on the grounds.

BLUE GRASS STAKES FEATURES 2 QUEEN’S PLATE HOPEFULS…
QUEEN’SPLATEKITTEN (Kitten’s Joy) and SENSATIONAL SLAM (Grand Slam) are in Saturday’s Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland with a shot to earn a trip to the Kentucky Derby. They are also two of the top Plate hopefuls for Woodbine’s June 26 classic.
The Kitten comes off a fringe placing in a turf stake at Gulfstream but he won his maiden on Woodbine’s Polytrack. He is owned by Mill House and trained by Todd Pletcher.
Pletcher has also entered the Slam-man, coming off a sprint stake win at Aqueduct.
It was thought that this fellow would look awfully good in the Queenston at Woodbine next month but it looks as if they will try and stretch him out right now. His dam Roman Romance was a sprinter.

Blockbuster sprint on Sunday

Two champion sprinters and a hotshot 3yo from last year will be knocking heads on SATURDAY at Woodbine in the Jacques Cartier Stakes, one of the springtime’s most well known races.
FATAL BULLET, the 2008 Horse of the Year and top sprinter, will meet 2010’s top sprinter HOLLYWOOD HIT plus the stakes winning ESSENCE HIT MAN in the 6 furlong dash.
No matter than only 11 horses nominated to the $150,000 race, if all 3 are in, it should be cool.
FATAL BULLET has a new rider this year in LUIS CONTRERAS and it would seem that this older gelding may want to be just off a hot pace nowadays. HOLLYWOOD HIT is, according to Jim McAleney, doing very well and could be better than ever and Essence Hit Man is fairly quick.
The BULLET has been going easy in 2 workouts since his stunning move at Palm Meadows on March 23 in 58.60.
MORE QUEEN’S PLATE NEWS
With the bombing of BOWMAN’S CAUSEWAY in the FLORIDA DERBY, the leaderboard for the top Queen’s Plate contender is hogged by ELITE ALEX. That fellow, who is not currently nominated to the Plate is going to try and run-down THE FACTOR in the Arkansas Derby on Saturday. The latter, a speed merchant who looked quite fired after his Rebel win, is trained by Bob Baffert.
Elite Alex, meanwhile, will have blinkers on and he comes off a scorching 6 furlongs workout in 1:11 and change.
