QUEEN’S PLATE UPDATE – field could hit maximum
They are coming out of the woodwork for the 156th Queen’s Plate on July 5.
Not that this is a surprise since there is only one $1 million dollar race for Canadian-bred 3-year-olds but the list of possible entries has swelled to 18.
The maximum number allowed to compete in the Plate is 17.

Danish Dynaformer – the Plate Trial winner is doing well as of Sunday according to trainer Roger Attfield –
Conquest Curlinate – Mark Casse trainee had a good run in Trial
Conquest Boogaloo- terrible trips in 2 straight races.hard to know if he is good enough
Billy’s Star – terrible trip in the Trial..highly regarded
Breaking Lucky – Reade Baker trainee lightly raced
Ami’s Flatter – Josie Carroll colt has been on the farm for a freshening
Shaman Ghost – the Marine Stakes winner worked in 1:11 last week, remains serious
Bear at Last – Bear Stables scored upset in Oaks, this colt has shown flashes of brilliance
Portree – improving, lightly raced from Chiefswood
Academic – filly won Oaks at 66-1
Field of Courage – improving Marchfield colt was flat in Trial – Mark Casse told Thoroughblog he has not decided yet
