In battle with Excaper for champion 2yo male
MARITIMER came back from a booming win in the Coronation Futurity to post a 91 Beyer Figure in the Display Stakes and get right into the battle for champion 2yo with Breeders’ Cup Juv. Turf runner-up Excaper. The flashy,sizy colt, by the red-hot Stormy Atlantic out of stakes winner (and undefeated Highland Mood) is haded to Florida now and will prepare for the Queen’s Plate there.
The last Coronation winner to take the Plate was Norcliffe in 1976.
Howard Walton owns and bred MARITIMER and Sid Attard trains. Luis Contreras was the winning rider.

TORONTO, November 27 – Jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson suffered bruises, but no fractures according to her agent, in a racing incident on Sunday afternoon.
The 30-year-old native of Brampton, Ontario, was thrown from her mount, Buratino, just after the wire in Sunday’s second race.
*NOTE – Goldmart Farms’ BURATINO, trained by Sid Attard finished second after leading through the stretch but he broke his leg past the wire and was put down on the track.
The son of Anabaa was a homebred.
Other casualties recently include MY BAD, a solid runner for the Tucci Stables, who broke down training on the main track.

Rexdale, ON – November 28, 2011 – The annual CTHS Winter Mixed Sale took place at the Woodbine Sales Pavilion on Saturday, November 26th, resulting in a weanling colt by Canadian Champion Two-Year-Old Leonnatus Anteas topping the Sale.
Richard G. Hogan (CAN. CO. BLOODSTOCK) purchased the Sale topping weanling by Leonnatus Anteas out of the Canadian Champion Turf female Chopinina for $32,000 through Hill ‘N’ Dale Sales Agency, Agent.
Windways Farm bought the highest priced yearling, a $26,000 Tethra colt out of Ms Petula, consigned by Paradox Farm Inc., Agent.
Topping the broodmare session was a $20,000 purchase by John Carey for the Bold n’ Flashy mare Galipette in foal to Leonnatus Anteas, also through the Hill ‘N’ Dale Sales Agency consignment.
