160TH QUEEN’S PLATE – Saturday June 29
The post position draw will be held Wednesday June 26 for the 160th Queen’s Plate and the field has swelled to 12 horses, seemingly most not afraid of the big two – AVIE’S FLATTER and SKYWIRE.
The filly Bold Script, second in the Woodbine Oaks, is not deemed a Plate runner but maiden Moon Swings and winners Krachenwagen and Lucas n Lori are in the field.
The Sam-Son filly DESERT RIDE, the Woodbine Oaks winner, is still considered a starter and she could be considered a top three contender, perhaps ONE BAD BOY, coming in from California with the highest last-race Beyer Figure can be a major player but a win by any other horse in this year’s field would be a major upset.
Will it be the Champion Avie’s Flatter or the Gary Barber rising star Skywire or is this a TJ ‘s Lucky Moon year? Find out June 29.
