Hopefully there will be a lot of “jingling’ in the pockets of bettors by the end of a marathon 14-race card at WOODBINE today – the final day of 133-cards for 2017.
The best news is, not only are the field large and there are a ton of opportunities to cash a bet on a longshot, but the #AMAZINGTRAINERSRACE comes down to the final day –
WOODBINE’S TOP THREE TRAINERS BY WINS
Starts 1st 2nd 3rd Earnings Win % Top 3%
Mark E. Casse 503 95 85 70 $5,317,245 19% 50%
Norman McKnight 298 94 57 35 $2,027,546 32% 62%
Kevin Attard 296 43 54 41 $1,887,101 15% 47%
Mark Casse and his team have won the title in 10 straight years..11 overall.
Both trainers have had exceptional years while having 2 very different barns.
Casse’s team sent out WORLD APPROVAL to win the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile plus a litany of others stakes races.
Norm McKnight has a much smaller stable (about 40-48 horses carried all year), did not win a stakes race, but won a pile of races with horses working hard in mid to high claiming event.
Neither is better than the other but what a fascinating storyline heading into the last day of racing.
IN fact, RACE 13 could come down to being pivotal for McKnight with BREW’S TOONIE TOSS, a filly he just claimed, looming a contender in a big field…
