Race 2 (post time 7:18 p.m.) HALTON STAKES – $125,000 purse. For 3-year-olds and up; 1 mile on turf.
Watch for Hampstead Heath in this race, he won it last year for trainer Pat Parente.
Race 3 ELGIN STAKES – $125,000. For 3-year-olds and up; 1 1/16 miles, Polytrack.
PENDER HARBOUR is the poster boy for the Woodbine yearling sale and he squares off against the riding star Melmich, who cost $5,000 at auction.
Race 4 ALGOMA STAKES – $125,000; 3-year-olds and up; fillies and mares; 1 1/16 miles; Polytrack
Brooklynsway is a strong one for owner and trainer John Ross.
Race 5 MUSKOKA STAKES – $200,000; 2-year-old fillies; 6 1/2 furlongs; Polytrack
Conquest Dynasty is a contender and she has a little sister in the upcoming sale.

NY POST – WILL AMERICAN PHAROAH LOSE THE TRAVERS? ODDS ARE AGAINST IT
AP – Triple Crown winner American Pharoah is the overwhelming 1-5 favorite in a 10-horse field for Saturday’s Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course.
American Pharoah will start from the No. 2 gate in an attempt to become only the second Triple Crown winner to go on to win the prestigious Travers. Whirlaway won the 1941 Travers after sweeping the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes.

WOODBINE FRIDAY
race 1- AUDACIOUS BEAR, a 2yo filly making her 2nd career start, led all the way to win this maiden allowance for Ontario sired gals. Bred by Donver Stables, the filly was 18-1 and she is owned by Bear Stables and trained by Mike DePaulo. Gary Boulanger rode.
race 2- it was a little tougher this time but PROBABLY won again, her 3rd straight score and 4th of the year. This With Distinction filly, owned by Tino Attard, was up from $8,000 claiming to $11,500. Alan Garcia rode.
race 3- an $8,000 claiming race for older guys went to DR HARKNESS, a really sturdy fellow who now races for trainer Troy Wismer. The gelding was ridden by David Garcia. He is by Bold n Flashy and he is 6 for 36 in his career.
race 4- ETHICAL FUNDS, owned by Nathan Aquires and breeder Errol Bailey, won this maiden allowance at 9 furlongs on the grass with a good stretch surge under Emile Ramsammy. The Giant Gizmo 3yo was stakes placed as a 2yo last season and this was his 3rd race of 2015.
race 5- Despite poor form for about one year, TH ORIGINAL SCOTTY, a 7-year-old stallion, rallied from far back to win at 23-1 in this $23,500 claiming race. The Norm McKnight trainee was ridden by Luis Contreras and it was the son of Mr Scotty’s 4th race of the season.
race 6 – the Charles Fipke – Roger Attfield team wins again – this time with 1-1 DYNA’S RICOLETA, who won this maiden allowance after a long stretch drive on the grass. She is an ONtario bred who was making her 7th career start. Eurico Rpsa da Silva rode.
race 7 MASQUERADE PARTY was hard ridden all the way way but won this $10,00 claiming race at 6 furlongs for his 2nd win of the year. He is a Where’s the Ring gelding was was 4th in the Bold Ruckus Stakes in June. Owned by C E C Farm and trained by Ralph Biamonte. Patrick Husbands rode.
race 8 – the day’s feature brought together millionaire ZA APPROVAL, still seeking past glory, EXCAPER, a hard knocking grey dude too but it was the newly claimed MONEY TALKER, by Silent Name, who won this 1 1/16 mile race in 1:39.90 (!), the first time he went that score on the grass in more than a year. This 6yo was claimed from Stronach Stables for $62,500 last time out. Laconian Racing owns and Josie Carroll trains.
race 9 – Messy race here as Itwillallworkout lost rider David Garcia at the start and the loose horse roared to the lead down the backstretch. Turning for home, HEAVEN’S SAKE charged to the lead but came out and caused Hey Big Man to clip heels and almost fall. Heaven’s Sake went on to win but was disqualified and placed 5th. BEAR LINFINI, from the Bear Stables, was placed first and was claimed by Kyle Sharman,
Nice wagering day of $3.6 million.
