Former Windsor, Ont. resident J. Paul Reddam buys MANTOBA
The 2yo colt MANTOBA attracted a new co-owner when J. Paul Reddam purchase the colt this week from Mantona Racing. The Noverre 2yo has won 2 of his 3 races. He is in the Juvenile Turf.
Note that Reddam won the Juvenile with a Euro purchase, WILKO, who now stands in Ontario.
There are just 2 Canadian-breds in the entries, but several Canadian trainers including Danny Vella, Scott Fairlie and Mark Frostad. Patrick Husbands gets to ride in the Cup also.

WORKFORCE, the Arc winner, galloped softly on Tuesday on the firm turf at Churchill Downs but is not certain to race. He’s the big favourite but if there is no rain, he may no go. Jock Ryan Moore was heard to say the turf is more firm than the colt would like.
The good news is, there is rain in the forecast for Friday.
SUPREME SUMMIT was a study of wild workouts on THE WORKS show on Tuesday morning. The 4yo Cactus Rodge colt has been bearing out badly in his workouts, Oct. 23 and then a week later. The colt was 2nd to Smiling Tiger in the Ancient Title recently.
ZENYATTA should be Horse of the Year (finally) no matter where she finishes in the Classic on Saturday. That’s it.

ZENYATTA FEELS THE LOVE

LOUISVILLE, KY.—Zenyatta’s growing popularity outside horse racing led to her odds getting hammered down to 8-5 for Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Classic.
The horse with the 19-0 record was made the early favourite for the $5 million Classic (all dollars U.S.), where she will try to end her career with a perfect record.
Churchill Downs oddsmaker Mike Battaglia originally had Zenyatta at 5-2 on the morning line.

Get ready, Zenyatta. The Breeders’ Cup Classic has another impressive prima donna.
Jockey Garrett Gomez says blossoming four-year-old Blame is in prime shape to end Zenyatta’s streak of 19 consecutive victories without a defeat.
The bay colt has won five of his past six races, including the Stephen Foster Handicap at Churchill Downs here in June. Blame breezed four furlongs in 49.8 seconds on Monday, his last significant move before the Classic Saturday.
“Over the last six months he’s turned into a true movie star, he really enjoys the cameras,” Gomez said.
Blame certainly looked it during the early morning chill. He bucked a little when Gomez pulled him up following the gallop out and toyed with his lead pony on his way back to the barn.
