CANADIAN BREDS FILLIES SET FOR SANTA YNEZ (GRADE 2)
SEDUIRE and CONQUEST HARLANATE are in the lineup for the Grade 2 Santa Ynez today at Santa Anita. The race is for newly minted 3yo fillies at 6 1/2 furlongs. SEDUIRE is a daughter of Elusive Quality out of Holy Eclair by Holy Bull and she was bred by Anderson Farms and Marette Farrell in Ontario. The filly is the first foal of her unraced mare. Canadian-based REGIS STABLES owns the filly and she was a $130,000 weanling purchase.
Seduire is a 2-time stakes winners in 8 races with earnings of $142,000.
CONQUEST HARLANATE, who could be the champion 2-year-oild filly in Canada at the Sovereign Awards, won the Mazarine and Natalma Stakes last year and she is cutting back in distance off her 11th place finisher in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. This will be her first dirt race. She is a Harlan’s Holiday filly bred by Windhaven and owned by Conquest Stables. Mark Casse trains.

Ontario bred WAVELL AVENUE won an allowance/optional claiming race at Aqueduct on Friday for her 3rd straight win. Bred by Eugene Melnyk, the 4yo filly by Harlington is out of Lucas Street by Silver Deputy. She was a $70,000 purchase by agent Steve Young from the Melnyk dispersal last summer as an unraced prospect.
