Sometimes, the wrong key pressed results in disaster.
For example.. the entire weekend wrap up erased and lost in one swoop.
Brief notes:
The Polytrack was suddenly “cultivated” according to the TV folks on The Score and simulcast shows. Sunday morning the track was dug up in this style and that resulted in a bad rail for two days of racing, slow times and logical horses just spinning their wheels.
It was a handicapping nightmare.
FIELD COMMISSION won the Vigil in a peculiar running of that 7 furlong race that featured drab performances by the speed runner Shadowless, graded stakes winner Rebellion who shipped in from Kentucky, Just Rushing and others.
HOO WHY (photo at left by Norm Files) won a slow La Lorgnette Stakes – an 87 Beyer Figure and an easy trip behind runoff filly WOODSMOKE who stopped and gave the winner the lead. TASTY TEMPTATION exits that race (2nd) and looks like a strong Woodbine Oaks contender.
The sad story of VERNE’S BABY continues – last once again on the weekend when in for $25,000 claiming. He is a track record setter and stakes winner sold for $1.00 who missed a couple of years due to knee surgery.
The HALL OF FAME winners were announced – GUS SCHICKEDANZ, MARYFIELD, ALYWOW and PETESKI.
