Morgan D. Firestone died at home on January 13, 2009, peacefully, with strength and dignity. Father of Amy (Goodrich), David, Jeff, Debbie and Cindy. Husband of Julie (nee Gibson).
Morgan had a remarkable life filled with generosity and kindness. Born in Akron, Ohio, he became a proud Canadian in the 1970s. A passionate sportsman and accomplished entrepreneur, Morgan continued his mother’s love and legacy of horse racing through Firestone Farms.
Morgan believed that from those who were given much, much was expected, and demonstrated this through his remarkable philanthropy to many causes. Morgan left our world having made it a better place.
A celebration of Morgan’s life will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, 165 Charlton Avenue West, Hamilton, Ontario (corner of Charlton and Caroline Streets). Dress – no black! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation, Firestone Institute of Respiratory Health.
