Ever wonder how the Ontario-bred and sired LEXIE LOU, the 2014 Canadian Horse of the Year, is doing as a momma in Japan?
Well, her second foal DANON SCORPION won the Group 3 Arlington Cup over 17 rivals on April 16 at Hanshin racecourse in Japan. The dark bay 3-year-old colt by Lord Kanaloa (Jpn) was winning for the third time in five races and taking his first group victory.
Danon Scorpion is owned by Danox, Inc. and trained by Takayuki Yasuda. The colt was bred by K.I. Farm in Japan, which purchased Lexie Lou from owner Gary Barber for $1 million in 2016.
Lexie Lou is by Sligo Bay (Ire) from Oneexcessivenite by In Excess. Lexie Lou’s first foal is multiple winner Danon Basilia, a filly by Frankel.
