The 2021 OBS March Sale of Two Year Olds in Training begins Tuesday, March 16th. Hip No.’s 1 – 281 will sell Tuesday and Hip No.’s 282 – 563 will be offered Wednesday, March 17th. Both sessions will begin at 11:00 a.m. As always, the Sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the TDN, DRF, Blood-Horse, and Past The Wire websites.
The catalog can be viewed via the OBS website here. The website’s searchable and sortable master index provides links to under-tack and walking videos, pedigree and consignor information as well as pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed. It has also been updated to allow shortlist creation.
All videos may also be viewed in the iPad version of the catalog, available via the equineline Sales Catalog App. The App allows users to download and view the catalog, record notes and also provides innovative search, sort and rating capabilities. For information and downloads visit here.
There are more than 500 youngsters up for sale including a group of Ontario-breds which have made their way down to Florida.
On the first day of the gallop show, an Ontario-bred colt by first crop sire Practical Joke from the Speightstown mare Miss Adele (a half-sister to Canadian champion 2-year-old Hollinger) worked one furlong in :9 4/5, tied for the fastest clocking for the distance. The colt was bred by the late Bill Graham and was a $37,000 weanling purchase. He is consigned by King’s Equine, agent II.
Another Graham-bred, a Tiznow colt from I’m Breathtaking, worked two furlongs in :21 3/5.
Two other Ontario-breds worked in 21 3/5 during the gallop show: a colt by Broken Vow – Smart Timmie for Whitman Sales and an Honor Code – Flawless Diamond colt from Tom McCrocklin, agent.
