Assiniboia Downs is set for opening day on Tuesday May 31, 2022 with some exciting player initiatives for the new season.
The Downs has dropped the takeouts across the board, beginning with the Win pool which is being reduced by a whopping 4% to an industry low 14.95%.
The takeouts on the Trifecta, Superfecta, Jackpot Hi-5 and Pick 3 have been reduced by 2%. The Exacta, Double, Quinella and ASD Jackpot Pick 5 have been reduced by 1%.
The Pick 4 will have a $25,000 pool guarantee and will continue with its low 15.95% takeout.
In addition, the track’s website now features the NEW Player Portal that will be geared specifically to horseplayers. The page will showcase information such as the ASD Live broadcast, jockey bios and stats, trainer stats, multi-source picks, program information, and handicapping videos.
The Player Portal is intended to gather everything in one place to simplify the access for horseplayers. It will also have links to the major betting platforms to make it easy for players to click right through to their favourite site to bet.

Customers will be welcomed back from day one without restrictions for the first time in two years. The Downs will also feature a full complement of top talent jockeys this meet, including many with championship titles, now that travel restrictions have been lifted.
