It didn’t take long for Colebrook Farms’ newest Ontario stallion to make some noise. TALE OF SILENCE (Tale of the Cat), whose first crop are two-year-olds of 2026, has three juveniles in this week’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales’ March Two-Year-Old in Training sale and one of them posted the third-fastest time of the under tack show.
A colt by Tale of Silence, winner of the Westchester Stakes (G3) at Belmont and Grade 2 placed, flew two furlongs in 20 3/5 on March 4, the first day of the show. That tied the Kentucky-bred colt for the third fastest time. The juvenile is from the mare Lemon Drop Belle, a daughter of millionaire Bourbon Belle, and a half-sister to Queen’s Plate winner Not Bourbon. Lemon Drop Belle is the dam of stakes-placed Exxel, who is by Tale of Ekati, the full brother to Tale of Silence.
There are seven Ontario-breds in the March OBS auction which gets underway on March 10.
From the same consignor as the Tale of Silence colt, Doble J Equine, is an Ontario-bred colt by Golden Pal (Uncle Mo) from the stakes-placed mare Grace and Dignity, by Animal Kingdom. Grace and Dignity is the dam of stakes-placed Love and Poetry from just three foals to race. The Golden Pal colt sizzled two furlongs in 20 4/5 on Sunday.
Four Ontario-breds worked one furlong in 10 seconds. A filly by first crop sire Mystic Guide from the mare Zelda Can Dance by Pleasantly Perfect is offered by SGV Thoroughbreds, Zelda Can Dance was bought in foal to Mystic Guide by Ontario breeder Tabitha Lee.
