The Turf Endurance series wrapped up on Sunday at Woodbine, with Meyer crowned winner. Red River Rebel was announced the winner of the Turf Sprint Series at the end of August.

Both series allowed participants to collect additional prize monies by performing well in the three legs that compose the series. The horse with the most points after the three legs wins the series. Bonuses were awarded to the connections of the top three horses from the final standings. Points were awarded to the top-six finishers in each leg:

1st= 10 Points
2nd= 7 Points
3rd= 5 Points
4th= 3 Points
5th= 2 Points
6th= 1 Point

This past Sunday’s (October 15) final leg saw Prideofdistinction and jockey Declan Carroll score the victory in the longest race of the year at about 1 ¾ Miles on the E.P. Taylor Turf Course. Prideofdistinction also won the third leg of the series in 2022.

Meyer, who finished second in Sunday’s final leg, finished the series with the most points to secure the series victory. The Ontario-bred, trained by Marty Drexler and owned by Bruno Schickedanz, was runner-up in the first leg and won the second leg, completing the series with a total of 27 points.

Ron’s Gizmo, who won the first leg and finished third in the other two legs, was the series runner-up with 20 points. Each leg went for a purse of $55,000.

The Turf Sprint Series concluded on August 25th with Red River Rebel and jockey Jose Campos taking the win in the final leg that earned enough points to win the series.

Red River Rebel, trained by Krista Cole-Simpson, also finished fifth in the first leg, and second in leg two, totaling 19 points. Red River Rebel is owned by Andrews, Denny, Northern Dawn Stables Inc. and Cole-Simpson and Krista Gail.

Jazz Hands took the second leg and finished second in the series. Aim for the Sky, who won the first leg, finished third in the points line-up. Each leg went for a purse of $55,000.

The three highest point earners in the Turf Sprint and Turf Endurance series have earned the additional monies for owners and trainers listed below:
