LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society, Woodbine’s local Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) accredited non-profit organization, will host an online 50/50 raffle this week leading up to the 167th King’s Plate on Saturday, August 15.
Through fundraising and volunteer work, LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society cares for, evaluates, and retrains retired Thoroughbreds, helping them transition into loving adoptive homes and successful second careers.
The 50/50 raffle is open to participants across Ontario and will be available online at longrun5050.com from Monday, August 10 through King’s Plate Day on Saturday, August 15. Tickets are available for $10 for 5 tickets, $25 for 25 tickets, $50 for 100 tickets, or $100 for 250 tickets. Half of the funds will be donated directly to LongRun, while the other half will go to one lucky draw winner.

While tickets can be purchased online throughout the week, LongRun representatives will also be on-site at The King’s Plate selling raffle tickets and connecting with race fans. The winning ticket will be drawn following The King’s Plate race, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 15. The winner will be notified by email.
By supporting the 50/50 raffle, fans celebrating The King’s Plate can hope for a lucky ticket while helping to provide racehorses a second chance to succeed in a new loving home when their time at the racetrack comes to a close.
